Professional Photographer- expectations and reality
I have a workflow structured and developed over many years, yet it is mine alone and not available to the masses like the broad scale FMCG retail model.
Among many others, its a challenge that I find difficult to address despite my best efforts.
The big supermarkets are master problem solvers of this … they have customers well trained … steering them around the aisles, arranging stock to maximise profit, and these days having them scan and pay for their items … all without conversation.
In the world of professional photography, from fielding an enquiry to working on that assignment can go south in a heartbeat if expectation and reality aren’t managed effectively.
So how do I “train” potential clients to achieve results they will be happy with, while not coming across as arrogant or some sort of roadblock to getting the job done?
Ideally its great to meet the client in person, learn more about the story they are trying to tell, hopefully scout the location and come up with a plan that will deliver on brief.
Reality check.
